Start with the question

Choose what you want to understand: a topic, format or invitation. Review comparable posts over a consistent period.

  • Keep platform and format differences in mind.
  • Record the dates you are comparing.
  • Avoid treating one unusually strong or weak post as a trend.

Check the metric and its availability

Insights are a Pro feature. Available metrics depend on the platform and granted permissions. Missing reach, impressions or saves should not be treated as zero.

  • Read the metric definition shown in the product.
  • Do not combine unlike metrics into a misleading comparison.
  • Check the available reporting period before comparing results.

Choose one experiment

Write down the observation and one change to test next. Use the calendar to give that experiment a place.

  • State what you observed, not an unsupported cause.
  • Keep the useful part of the previous post.
  • Decide when you will review the next result.
